How To Make Vienna Sourdough Rye Bread

Ingredients:

Organic rye flour*, organic wheat flour*, organic wholegrain rye sourdough (wholegrain rye flour*, water, acidifier: lactic acid), salt, organic crushed caraway seeds*, organic crushed fennel*, organic crushed anise*

*100% certified organic

What you need:

Vienna sourdough baking mix (1 box)
1 ½ cups (380ml) of water (90-95°F)
1 packet of (included) dried yeast (7 grams)

How to make it:

Add the water, Vienna sourdough baking mix, and dried yeast into a mixing bowl, and combine slowly for 6 minutes.
Put the dough onto a floured work surface and form a compact loaf.
Sprinkle some flour on top of the loaf, place it on a baking sheet, and cover it for 45 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 480°F. Place a heatproof container with 1 cup of water in the oven at the same time as the bread.
Bake the bread for a total of 50 minutes, lowering the temperature to 390°F after the first 10 minutes.
Knock on the bottom of the bread to check if it’s fully baked—it should sound hollow.
For best results, allow the bread to cool completely on a wire rack for 1-2 hours before slicing.
